SSLW2006 Networking Excursion

This networking excursion is booked full, and the waiting list is closed. Due to space limitations, additional seats cannot be created. If you are already waitlisted, you will receive an email if a space opens up before September 22.
This year, SSLW will offer an optional networking excursion designed as a full-day of professional networking and cultural experience. The itinerary includes visits to Fushimi Inari Shrine, a traditional sake brewery and restaurant, a Uji matcha experience, a scenic walk along the Uji River, and Byodoin Temple (a World Heritage Site). The tour will conclude with the Pre-Symposium Social.
Registration will open on June 1 at 10 am (Japan Time). This is a ticketed event and is limited to the first 50 SSLW participants who sign up. Additional requests will be placed on a waiting list. Please note that the itinerary is tentative and subject to change.

This is a ticketed event requiring pre-registration.
Join us for an evening of conversation with L2 writing colleagues from around the world! The Pre-Symposium Social is a time-honored SSLW tradition since 1998. It is a way of welcoming SSLW participants who arrive in town early. Drinks and appetizers will be provided. You can order additional food on your own. If you are pre-registered, you can pick up your name tag during this social as well.

This networking event is a chance to get to know L2 writing teachers and researchers from around the world.
Food and drinks must be consumed in International Conference Halls I, II, III.

Networking Lunch

Open to all registered participants; boxed lunches can be pre-ordered until October 11. (Sorry, no on-site purchase!)
Join us for an opportunity to chat with fellow L2 writing researchers and teachers over Japanese-style bento lunch. The event is open to all participants, but you will need to bring your own lunch, or pre-order boxed lunches before October 11. The online order form for boxed lunches is available here. There also is a convenience store on campus. Other lunch options are rather limited, especially on weekends.
Food and drinks must be consumed in International Conference Halls I, II, III, or other 2nd floor meeting rooms.
